Swinging Bell Repair at Mulberry Street Methodist

get-attachment

Today we are in Macon, Georgia at the Mulberry Street Methodist Church. We are here to do some work on a broken swinging bell that is over 100 years old.

We will go up in the bell tower, remove all of the moving hardware, have some new head bolts machined, grind and paint all of the old working hardware, and go back in a few weeks to put it all back together. The biggest challenge will be lowering the large bell down to the floor after removing the bell hardware. To accomplish this, we will build up from the floor with pressure treated wood, and lower the giant bell down to it.

As always, contact White’s Clock and Carillon for any and all needs pertaining to bells, clocks, electronic carillon systems, Post clocks, architectural clocks, wall clocks, bell and clock towers, and any of your bell and clock restoration needs.
